Stephen Colbert used June 29th’s edition of The Late Show to voice his displeasure with the Supreme Court’s decision in favor of a public high school soccer coach engaged in prayer. According to Colbert’s less than stellar analysis, the decision could pave the way for satanic sacrifices of goats at your local high school soccer game. Worse still from Colbert’s perspective was the fact that this was not the only victory for religious liberty in the Court this term, or as he put it, “[Carson v. Makin] was not the only ruling where the conservative majority shoved their religion down…

Radio host Howard Stern slammed Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on June 27th and even threatened to seek the presidency after the decision of the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade. “Party like it’s 1959,” Stern declared on his SiriusXM show, deriding the 6-3 decision as being backward. “I hope they roll it all the way back to slavery and then they slap him on a plantation,” stated the co-host Robin Quivers, who, like Thomas, is black. Both hosts emphasized that Thomas, a Republican nominee, is married to a white woman, which used to be illegal before the 1967…

Lightyear had a disappointing opening weekend at the domestic box office, coming in 2nd place behind Jurassic World Dominion and earning $51 million. Earlier projections were pointing to an opening of $70 million or more. In comparison, Toy Story 4 had an opening of $120 million in 2019, whereas Toy Story 3 opened to $110 million in 2010. Lightyear was Disney’s first spin-off from the Toy Story franchise, although the premise appeared to be confusing to some audiences. It doesn’t focus on the Buzz Lightyear toy that viewers are used to, but rather on a movie that would have been…
