At the New York State Fair, punk rockers Dropkick Murphys made their views on the MAGA movement clear. Dropkick Murphys frontman Ken Casey stated, “If you’re a real patriot, you won’t support the MAGA movement,” according to local reports. His rant sparked some chants of “Let’s Go Brandon” from the crowd while others were cheering. Casey was also quick to criticize “MAGA” hats for being made in China, while much of the merchandise of his group was made in America.
He then directed his attention to the faction of Trump’s base that still thinks the election was stolen: ‘If you consider yourself a patriot and you believe that election denying s**t, I will fight your a** outside if you want to.’ A few minutes later, Casey seemed to catch up, and jokingly said “thanks for listening” and proceeded with the show.
A video of the incident was captured and viewed more than 4 million times on Twitter. It was the fourth appearance for the Boston-based band at the event in Syracuse. They were supporting their new album, the Woody Guthrie-aping ‘This Machine Still Kills Fascists’. For the fourth time, the band performed at the New York State Fair, ending their set with the joking phrase “we just want to be invited back.”
Some of Ken Casey’s most recent concerts, recorded on video that later went viral, conveyed his hatred of everything MAGA. He also lashed out at billionaires who are taking on unions, saying that they simply don’t even bother to care about the working class, reported Breitbart.
“You are being duped by a bunch of grifters and billionaires who don’t give a shit about you or your family,” he claimed. “They care about their fucking tax breaks and the money they can put in their pocket. If you consider yourself a patriot and you are spouting off that election denying shit, I will fight your ass outside if you want to.”
He continued: “Wake the fuck up! We’re working class people. The people, the fucking rich, the billionaires, they don’t give a shit.”
While reportedly appearing at the Allentown Fairgrounds in Pennsylvania, Dropkick Murphys went on another political rant. He was quoted on stage as saying in his thick Boston accent: ‘If you’re out there buying those f**king hats, these swindlers are selling at that f**king fair, then you are part of the problem’ before briefly apologizing to the children present.
The Boston Celtic rockers have already angrily responded to former Wisconsin Republican Governor Scott Walker after he used their song in a rally.
